Home Interiors Plant Closing in Grand Island
Plant closing in Grand Island will put 114 out of work By The Associated Press
GRAND ISLAND - The closing of a home accessories plant in Grand Island will cost 114 people their jobs.
The Grand Island Accessories plant will close on July 31, said officials of its Dallas-based owner, Home Interiors and Gifts Inc.
The plant makes molded resin wall decorating items that are marketed by decorators in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Canada.
"This business decision was a needed one based on market demand and not a reflection of the employees' service or performance," said Heather Chastain, Home Interiors senior vice president of operations and corporate development.
