Home Interiors and Gifts Closing Two Subsidiaries
Carrollton-based Home Interiors & Gifts Inc. will shutter two subsidiaries at the end of June, leading to the loss of nearly 200 jobs, according to information released Monday by the Texas Workforce Commission.
As expected, Home Interiors, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last week, will close Dallas Woodcraft Co., leading to 119 lost jobs in Dallas County.
Home Interiors will also close Laredo Candle Co., leading to 77 job cuts in Webb County, but a spokesman said the company would be actively looking for an opportunity to sell the candle business as a going concern over the next two months.
